Active RFID and wireless sensors

Our wireless system is composed by a base station and some radio sensors scattered in a room or in a open environment. The wireless sensors collect and transmit physical parameters to the base station through wireless radio link, the base station may use an ethernet connection to send the received data to a user application that processes them. This sensor network is useful in monitoring and environmental control but can also be used in goods, animals, people tagging or intrusion detection.
The strength of our solution is scalability since it can implement ZigBee, 802.15.4 and simple point to point MAC protocols for wireless communication. and http, telnet, tftp, DHCP client for ethernet communication.

TCP/IP low cost modules

L-IP2K series represent an easy and low cost solution for connecting embedded devices or physical sensors to ethernet network and the above RFID system is a typical example of application. Actually L-IP2K is an extremely flexible product which can adapt to all kind of customers requirement: it provides ethernet connectivity to devices lacking in network connection, it can act as a web server, it can give mail alert in threshold conditions, it can process physical data (analog samples), save them into file easily downloadable by a remote user. The product is also provided with Digital I/O for application of remote control (relais control). L-IP2K is essentially a serial to ethernet bridge (serial port RS232) and may be used as: console management, terminal, TCP socket or serial bridging. It can implement http, telnet, tftp, DHCP client.

Video Surveillance

We have projected and produced a video security system based on a DSP board with 4 video input mounted on a PC/104 standard module. The video board core is the DSP DM642. This component is the best processor for video applications on the market since its clock is at 600MHz.
We have implemented algorithms for the above specific board: video encoder (H263 100% software solution for DSP C6000 family), motion detection, data compression and streaming engine over IP. All these software tools are modules that can be easily integrated in order to produce a real time video stream sent over the ethernet network.
We have also developed a PC player for H263 stream over IP that visualizes the video frames and generates alerts when user-defined security rules are violated.
It is possible to integrate the above video system with a remote control module that can move the video camera. A human operator or the video security system can guide the position of the camera using an ethernet connection.
